Joseph Marmion (1858–1923) was an Irish Benedictine monk, priest, and spiritual writer. Born in Dublin, he was ordained a priest in 1881 and later joined Maredsous Abbey in Belgium, becoming its abbot in 1909. Marmion became widely known for his deep spiritual insights and writings on the Christian life, especially on the themes of divine adoption and Christ as the center of spiritual life. His most influential works include Christ, the Life of the Soul, Christ in His Mysteries, and Christ, the Ideal of the Monk. He was beatified by the Catholic Church in 2000.
