Jerry Bridges (1929–2016) was a respected American Christian author, speaker, and longtime staff member of The Navigators, a worldwide Christian discipleship organization. Born in Texas, Bridges served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and later earned an engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma. He joined The Navigators in 1955 and worked in various roles, including administrative leadership and teaching ministries. Bridges is best known for his influential Christian books that emphasize spiritual growth and holiness. His most popular work, The Pursuit of Holiness (1978), has sold over a million copies and has helped believers understand the call to live a godly life through the power of the Holy Spirit.
