Albert Benjamin Simpson (1843–1919) was a Canadian-born pastor, theologian, and missionary leader. After serving in Presbyterian churches in Canada and New York, he left denominational ministry to reach the overlooked and unreached. In 1887, he founded The Christian and Missionary Alliance, a movement focused on “deeper life” spirituality and global missions. Simpson was a prolific author and hymn writer who stressed the “Fourfold Gospel”: Christ as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. His passion for the spiritually hungry and the unreached continues to influence evangelical and missionary movements today.
